Hi everyone!
Had my appt with the biologys nurse and I start Tocilizumab on 10 June. She also gave me my anti ccp test result - in the 600s so definitely strongly positive. Had my shoulders x-rayed as there seems to be some damage there.
Roll on 10 June.

Good luck Nina, hope it all goes well for you. I know the feeling of excited anticipation, I will start mxt on 3 June. Why do they have to wait so long to start you though? Couldn't they start you straight away?
Have a lovely weekend xxPetraxx

Thanks Petra. I am away Whit week and I specifically want treatment on a Friday (less time off work) and 10 June was first available Friday.
Hope you get on well with mtx.
Have a good weekend too - mine will be better if the Wolves win!!

Hi Nina, Have a lovely holiday.
I know Wolverhampton well. I did my nurse training at New Cross and the Royal (now closed I believe) and ophthalmic training at the eye Hospital on the Compton road. We used to live on the Tettenhall road and got married right next to the Molineux ground (is register office still there?)
Fond memories indeed, young, carefree and everything to look forward to. Hard to believe it was 30 years ago! It feels like yesterday xxxxx

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes.
Lorna, it was good to meet you too the other week. Sorry we didn't get a chance to speak much.
Rose, fingers crossed you will embark upon Humira very soon.
Darshin, I hope you get some relief with your mtx/plaquenil.
Petra, thanks. Yes both the Royal and the Eye infirmary are now closed. The eye infirmary has been amalgamated into New Cross. Ah David and I also lived on the Tettenhall Road, but about 17 years ago and also got married at the registry office which is now by the civic centre back in 1996. Molineux is now a fab stadium which is being further redeveloped this summer.

Hi Nina
Glad to hear that you are starting meds soon. I can only think the reason for wait is that they are so busy with appointments and your first appointment will be a longish one as they can't just give you an inj without going through all the 'safety' tests first because of the toxicity of the drugs we have to take.
Good luck. Fingers crossed that they work very quickly for you.
Sheika x
